FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions

We know that planning a garden room is a big decision — it’s an investment in your home, your lifestyle, and your future. You’re bound to have questions, and we’re always happy to talk things through. Whether you’d like to speak to a member of our experienced team, or visit our Taunton show site to explore options in person, we welcome that personal, one-to-one service.

In the meantime, we’ve put together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions to help you get started on your garden room journey with confidence and clarity.

To order your garden room call us or visit us at our show site. Garden rooms require a 10-15% deposit which, once paid, allows us to secure your installation date, complete your design and plan in manufacture of your building. From there we’ll arrange a site visit to check access, check the planned site and answer any questions you may have. Balances are payable one day prior to installation.

Our garden room prices include a consumer unit and double recessed sockets just like you have at home. We also install flush fitting, dimmable LED spotlights in the ceiling. All electrical work is carried out by Part P qualified electricians.

Planning permission for a garden room is not normally required as our buildings meet Permitted Development guidelines (built under 2.5m high externally). This can even include areas of outstanding natural beauty and conservation areas as most will have permitted development rights. Our friendly and helpful team is on hand to guide you through Permitted Development rights as part of the design process but we recommend that you check with with your Local Planning Office to clarify what is permitted in your area. Most of the time our customers are pleasantly surprised at the ease with which you can add an outside building to your property.

Yes. All of our garden rooms include internal painting in your choice of colour, laminate flooring, electrics with LED spotlights and sockets — so your space is ready to use straight after installation.

Our garden rooms are hand‑crafted in the UK using premium materials, including Scandinavian Redwood, Marley Board or Cedar cladding, high‑performance insulation, EPDM rubber roofing and double‑glazed doors and windows. This ensures a stable, weatherproof, and long‑lasting building.

Prices vary by size, cladding, interior options and bespoke features. Our standard garden rooms start from around £14,250 for redwood cladding, Marley Board options start around £16,495, and cedar begins around £17,995 — all fully installed with electrics, flooring and finishes. (Exact pricing is confirmed in your personalised quote.)

Yes — garden rooms can be designed to include bathroom facilities and sleeping space. Depending on use, you may need planning permission or building regulation approval. Our team will guide you through what’s required for your project.

Many customers use garden rooms as therapy spaces, offices or studios. As long as the use doesn’t significantly increase traffic or noise, it typically falls under permitted development, but we always recommend checking with your council if unsure.

Yes — we recommend several options to extend your home network into your garden room, from Wi‑Fi extenders to hard‑wired Ethernet or point‑to‑point systems. We’ll be happy to advise on the best solution for your setup.

Absolutely. With full insulation in the walls, roof and floor, your garden room can be used year‑round. You can install electric heaters, infrared radiators, air conditioning units or integrated HVAC systems depending on your needs.
